Kyle Bentley is the Vice President of New York Transmission & Distribution, Electric Operations, for National Grid leading an organization of more than 2,000 internal management and union employees and over 1,000 external employees responsible for electric utility operations, construction, maintenance, and emergency response activities associated with serving 1.6 million customers across 25,000 square miles in Upstate New York. Mr. Bentley has held various managerial and operations positions of increasing responsibility within National Grid since 2007. He has led many catastrophic storm restoration efforts as State Incident Commander. In addition, Mr. Bentley has a strong track record of leadership in operational roles such as Electric Witness in a rate case filing, State Incident Commander for contingency planning, and conceptually developing and supporting digital tools to aid field employees. Mr. Bentley holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Energy Management from Bismarck State College and a Master of Business Administration from Clarkson University. Mr. Bentley has a strong history of raising money for to support research to find cures for childhood cancers through the St. Baldricks Foundation and chairs the WISER IUIRC. Mr. Bentley lives in Saratoga Springs NY, with his wife and two sons and his primary work location is based in the company’s Albany, NY office.

Senior Director of Emergency Management, Avangrid

Adam Helman currently serves as the Senior Director of Emergency Management for the energy services company, Avangrid. Avangrid owns and operates energy utilities (Electric and Natural Gas) throughout the northeast. In his role, Adam oversees the corporation’s Emergency Management department. The mission of Avangrid’s Emergency Management department is to ensure Avangrid and its operating companies are prepared to respond to all-hazards emergencies. The company does this through a robust planning, training, and exercise program. During actual events, Adam serves as the coordinator of overall response operations throughout the company.
